EU – US Trade

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership

On February 13th 2013 the European Union and United States launched discussion on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership – designed to reduce barriers to trade between the two.

On March 12th the Commission sent a draft negotiating mandate to member states for approval.

The potential benefits of this are said to be great – adding 0.5% to EU economic output.

The 9th Annual European Resource Bank will be held this September 8-10 in the very centre of European politics in Brussels and hosted by New Direction – The Foundation for European Reform, a free market think tank.

Participants can expect an exciting line up of speakers that will debate the relationship between the European Union/Europe and the Liberty Movement, the most recent EU activities that in many ways lead to greater regulations of markets, restrictions of individual freedoms, and new EU’s structures, which are being built to save the collapsing Eurozone members.

A leading German businessman and economist offers an alternative solution to the euro crisis by creating the Northern Euro.
Brussels, 8 December 2011 – On the eve of the European summit to stem the European crisis, a leading German businessman and economist, the former President of the Federation of German Industries Professor Hans-Olaf Henkel, called for the splitting of the Eurozone into northern and southern parts to improve the competitiveness of the weaker countries and to prevent inflation.

An exclusive EU wide study shows when you start to keep your earnings and stop paying the state: Poles have their Tax Freedom Day today, Belgians have to wait until 4 August.
Brussels, 7 June 2011 - For the second consecutive year an EU wide calendar of “Tax Freedom Days” for typical workers in each of the 27 EU Member States has been released today - on the Polish Tax Freedom Day for 2011. The study is published by New Direction – Foundation for the European Reform and Institut économique Molinari (IEM) with data provided by Ernst & Young.
